Special Skills Officer - Counterintelligence

  • Contractor Special Skills Officer - Counterintelligence (CSSO-CI) conducts federal, CI background investigations and prepare reports of investigations in compliance with Intelligent Community Directive (ICD) 704 standards, all laws, and other required federal agency regulations. Work cases throughout the geographic area of responsibility and travel to various places of employment, residence and education institutions. Travel to other geographic locations (by car or by plane) will also be required as needed. Other duties as assigned.

     

    Additional CSSO-CI responsibilities include but not limited to:

    • Conduct investigations on a full-time basis in support of national security, focusing on casework for government clients.

    • Conduct face-to-face and telephone interviews with the subject and others as needed.

    • Perform record searches at agencies, courthouses, educational institutions, financial institutions, and medical/mental health facilities.

    • Report all obtained information in a clear and concise report.

    • Train and mentor other investigators in the field as directed.

     

    Education:

    • Bachelor's degree or higher in Criminal Justice, National Strategic/Intelligence Studies or a related field from an accredited college or university.

     

    Qualifications:

    • U.S. Citizenship with valid U.S. Passport.

    • Minimum of five (5) years of SSO experience in conducting personnel security background investigations, personnel security adjudications, and/or counter intelligence investigations at the federal, state, or local level of government or Intelligence Community in accordance with or consistent with ICD 704.1.

    • ICD 704.1 trained and experienced.

    • Minimum of three (3) years of SSO experience in conducting background investigations for U.S. Government Security Clearances.

    • Successful completion of an approved National Training Standards program/course.

    • Reliable personal vehicle, valid driver's license, and satisfactory driving record.

    • Experience conducting one-on-one subject interviews.

    • Willing to travel on temporary duty assignments as needed (by car or plane).

    • Successfully pass Client specific background checks and all required training.

    • Ability to determine employment suitability of persons who require access to sensitive or classified information.

    • Ability to report all obtained information in a clear and concise report on a secure system.

    • Ability to use MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Adobe Software, and a PC (Windows based)

    Clearance:

    • TS/SCI clearance with a Full-Scope Polygraph is required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

    Working Conditions:

    • All applicants must successfully complete a thorough medical and psychological exam, a polygraph interview and an extensive background investigation. US citizenship is required.

    • All applicants must undergo successful occupational testing to include an aptitude test, writing test, personality inventory, and interview.

    • Function in an office environment in a stationary position approximately 50 percent of the time or more.

    • Must be able to operate standard office equipment, such as a computer, copy machine and printer.
