    CME Associates, Inc. a multi-disciplinary engineering firm is seeking a full-time Senior Bridge Engineer to work in our East Hartford Office. The ideal candidate will have a B.S. in Civil Engineering with 10 years experience in bridge engineering. In this position, you would serve in a lead role in the design, analysis and detailing of structural transportation projects, as well and mentor and provide technical direction for our technical staff.

    Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

    • Lead technical task team in preparing structural analysis, calculations, and designs of varying levels of complexity;

    • Mentoring developing engineering talent in order to build our next generation of technical experts;

    • Perform comprehensive technical reviews, including constructability reviews, for projects involving conventional or accelerated bridge construction techniques;

    • Concept development and preliminary engineering in support of proposal responses, design-build opportunities, and client relationship building activities;

    • Assist in building CME’s reputation as an industry leader through focused personal development, participation in reputation building activities, and working with our internal teams to build skills;

    • Work effectively to meet scheduling requirements and quality control standards;

    • Uphold Governmental and Corporate Quality Assurance Policies/Procedures;

     

    Experience/Qualifications

    • B.S. in Civil Engineering;

    • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in design and management of complex bridge/transportation projects;

    • Possess Professional Engineer License;

    • Proficient in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD;

    • Experience designing, analyzing and developing complex bridge solutions using new and developing techniques.

    Additional Skills Highly Desired

    • Self-motivated to lead and mentor developing engineers.

    • Strong technical and plan development skills;

    • Experience with Accelerated Bridge Construction a plus;

    • Highly active in industry organizations via: performing research, publishing papers, working within committees, and/or attending industry events;

    • Highly practical in approach to design with the ability to properly assess available information, find innovate approaches, and make project decisions;

    • Experience working closely with and within the policies and procedures of Departments of Transportation in the Northeast;

    • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work concurrently on multiple projects;

    • Team oriented;

    • Excellent communication skills in order to build reputation and satisfaction with clients, subconsultants and other stakeholders;

    • Detail oriented and quality focused
